Da Nang Fine Arts museum has a scale of 3 floors with a total display area of 1,185.5 m² and introduces more than 800 works of modern art and artifacts of folk art and furniture. The Fine Arts museum displays a variety of artworks such as traditional handicraft products of painters, sculptors, artisans in Da Nang and the central provinces and cities – Central Highlands, including materials of oil painting, lacquer, silk, graphics, sculpture…The museum consists of 3 floors used to display works of different meanings.
Floor 1: Space for modern art The first floor of the museum has a total area of 390 m², This is a space to display short-term thematic exhibitions of modern art, and a space to display children’s fine arts. Most of the works on display here are related to the theme of life and people of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general.
Floor 2: Space of unique and special works of art The second floor area at Da Nang Fine Arts museum has an area of 412.5 m² distributed into 5 themes of modern art, including valuable artistic works of oil painting, lacquer, graphics, sculpture, and the topic of revolutionary struggle. The works here are very unique and creative, sometimes a bit confusing, causing curiosity of viewers. Some artworks on the topic of revolutionary struggle by many artists are displayed in the same theme. The author depicts the pre-liberation period of the Vietnamese people’s army.
Floor 3: Traditional ethnic space The third floor area has an area of 383 m², distributed into 3 themes of ancient art. This is a place to collect and display many typical works, artifacts and many traditional fine art products crafted by sculptors and artisans in Da Nang and many other provinces in the region.
When you go deep inside, you will be amazed by the art collections depicting Vietnamese culture. The masks in the Tuong performance were typically a very popular musical genre in Vietnam at that time. In addition, it also introduces to the public the art of creating patterns on fabrics, ethnic costumes, jewelry; sculptural art of worshiping, communal houses, pagodas, worshiping mascots, worshiping statues; folk art statues of the tombs of the Truong Son ethnic groups – Central Highlands.
